As signed by the King of Illian and supported by the Council of Nine, the following are the laws of Illian.

1. The attacking or killing of the innocent citizens of the city of Illian or of visitors to our city is strictly forbidden and is punishable by immediate warrant.

2. The attacking or killing of the innocent citizens of the countryside of Illian, including the Tu'athan, or of visitors to our country is strictly forbidden. This is punishable by immediate warrant.

3. Theft of personal property from a person in the city or country of Illian is punishable, but not limited to, a minimum of a one-week banishment from the all of the lands of Illian. In the event of flagrant disregard of this law, or in the case of additional infractions, the period of banishment may be increased or the guilty party warranted.

4. Any unprovoked attack on an Illian Companion in any country, not only in the city or countryside of Illian, is grounds for immediate warranting of the guilty party.

5. Any person who assists a criminal of Illian against an Illian Companion is subject to an immediate warrant if the assistance is within the confines of Illian. Warrants may also be placed for this if the attack occurs in other lands as long as said warranting does not conflict with the laws of the country in which the attack occurred.

6. Secreting one's self, also known as "hiding", is forbidden in the city and coutryside of Illian. It is subject to, but not limited to, banishment for a first offense. Additional offenses may result in warranting or additional banishments.

7. The wearing of so-called "dark equipment" or of Seanchan clan equipment within the borders of Illian is expressly forbidden. Violation of this law is subject, but not limited to, a one-week banishment for a first offense. For flagrant disregard of this law or for repeated offenses, the guilty person may be warranted or branded as a known Darkfriend or Seanchansworn. This equipment includes but is not limited to: a necklace of human teeth, an inky cloak, any trolloc clan equipment, a gleaming blacksword, tinful of thick dark liquid, a skin of human flesh.

8. The wearing of Companion clan equipment by non-clan members is expressly forbidden. Any person who has such equipment in their possession and declines to return it to any Companion who requests the return is subject to immediate banishment or warranting.
